Welcome to Maydena Alpine Retreat. Please read our Terms and Conditions carefully, as payment confirms your acceptance of all Maydena Alpine Retreat Terms and Conditions.

BOOKINGS & PAYMENTS

Payment confirms acceptance of all our Terms and Conditions:

 

  • 20% deposit due within 24 hours of booking to confirm booking.

  • Balance automatically charged 14 days before arrival.

  • Full payment is required for bookings made within 14 days of arrival.

  • If payment is not received by the due date, Maydena Alpine Retreat reserves the right to cancel the booking, and the Cancellation Policy will apply.

  • Payments are accepted securely by credit card in Australian dollars (AUD).

  • Credit card details are encrypted within our payment system and is not accessible by staff.

  • Rates quoted are subject to change prior to payment.

  • Minimum length-of-stay restrictions apply at various times throughout the year.

  • A pre-authorisation security deposit of $250 is held one day before arrival and released three days after departure.

  • A valid government-issued photo identification is required to check-in. This may include a driver’s licence, passport, or equivalent document.

  • By booking, you consent to the collection and use of your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy, detailed below, used only for managing your stay, providing services, and complying with legal requirements.

CANCELLATION & REFUNDS
  • Free cancellation 15+ days before arrival (written notice).

  • 100% of the booking total is charged for cancellations within 14 days of arrival.

  • Cancellations within 14 days will be refunded only for rebooked nights, less a 5% administration charge. 

  • Cancellations must be confirmed via both email relax@maydenaretreat.com.au and phone 0485 500 486.

  • No refunds for no-shows, early departures, or travel disruptions.

  • No refund for non-arrival or unused services.

  • A variation of the booking that reduces the number of nights will be treated as a cancellation of those nights.

  • The number of guests must not exceed two guests. Breach with result in immediate eviction without refund.

  • No refund will be made for any variation that breaches a minimum-night stay policy.

  • Bookings may be transferred to another guest with prior written approval from management.

  • We recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances or cancellation fees.

THIRD-PARTY BOOKINGS
  • Dual terms:

    • You must adhere to the terms and conditions of both Maydena Alpine Retreat and the third-party booking site.

  • Cancellation and changes:

    • These are handled according to the terms set by the third-party platform where you made the booking.

  • All other Maydena Alpine Retreat rules and policies apply equally to all guests, regardless of where the booking originated.

HOUSE RULES

Maydena Alpine Retreat is designed for peace, privacy, and connection with nature. These house rules help us maintain this tranquil experience for everyone.

Guests and Access

​

  • Adults-only retreat (18 years+; maximum two guests).

  • No pets allowed.

  • Strictly no-smoking property.

  • Visitors only by prior arrangement with management.

​

Check-in

​

  • 2:30 pm – 7:00 pm.

  • Call 0485 500 456 upon arrival.

  • Park next to the cabin in the gravel parking space.

  • Do not drive or park on the grass.

  • Please leave shoes at the door to avoid walking in dirt and animal scat.

​

Check-out

​

  • Before 10:00 am.

  • Please leave the property clean.

  • Clean the BBQ (supplies under BBQ).

  • Wash, dry, and put away dishes.

  • Sort recyclables and rubbish and place in bins provided.

  • Take all leftover food, personal belongings, and any non-recyclable items (eg spray cans or gas canisters) with you when you leave.

  • Turn off lights and appliances, close and lock doors, and windows.

  • Double-check that no personal items are left behind.

No Smoking

​

  • We have a strict no-smoking policy anywhere on the property — to preserve the pristine cabin interior and surrounding natural environment for all guests, protect our local wildlife and birds, and reduce fire risk in this high fire-danger area.

  • Smoking or open flames of any kind, including but not limited to tobacco, e-cigarettes, vaping, cannabis, and candles, will incur a $400 deep cleaning fee, plus any other costs incurred such as loss of income due to room closure and/or compensating other guests affected by smoke, odour, or room closure.

Peace & Quiet

​

  • Quiet hours: 10 pm - 7 am.

  • Parties or events are not permitted.

  • Breach of this policy will result in immediate eviction without refund.

​

Property Care and Safety

​

  • Guests are responsible for any damage, breakages, theft, or loss and will be charged accordingly.

  • Management is not responsible for personal belongings or items left behind.

  • Do not move furniture and please return any other items to their place when you leave.

​

Wildlife and Alpacas

​

  • You will likely see plenty of wildlife during your stay, especially pademelons grazing around the cabin each evening. Please enjoy observing them from a distance and do not feed them.

  • Take care when walking on the gravel or lawn the following day, as pademelons leave their droppings throughout the property.

  • You’ll also notice our neighbour’s gorgeous alpacas in the adjoining paddock – please respect their space and do not feed them or enter their private property.

Outdoor Bath and Facilities

​

  • Please relax and unwind and enjoy the outdoor bath and all our facilities responsibly and at your own risk.

  • Take care surfaces may be slippery.

  • To protect the bath please refrain from using oils, salts, bubbles, and other additives.

  • Drain the bath after each use and do not leave water in the bath if you are absent from the cabin as this may pose a risk to wildlife.

  • If anything is missing, broken or does not work please let us know ASAP.

  • If you need assistance with anything, please contact us - we’re always happy to help.

  • We always welcome your feedback on what you enjoyed most or how we could improve your experience

OTHER TERMS & CONDITIONS 

Guest Conduct & Liability

​

  • Guests indemnify Maydena Alpine Retreat against claims except where caused by proven negligence.

  • Guests are responsible for personal belongings.

​

Dispute Resolution

​

  • Please raise any issues with management immediately so they can be resolved promptly and fairly.

  • Unresolved matters may be referred to Consumer, Building and Occupational Services (CBOS) — Tasmanian Consumer Affairs and Fair Trading.

​

Liability

​

  • Maydena Alpine Retreat is not liable for any indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages, loss of profits, or loss of opportunity arising from your stay.

  • Our total liability to you will not exceed the total amount paid for accommodation.

​

Force Majeure

​

  • Maydena Alpine Retreat is not liable for any failure to perform obligations due to events beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, war, civil unrest, or government restrictions.

​

Third-Party Rights

​

  • No third party shall have the right to enforce these terms unless expressly stated.

​

Waiver

​

  • Failure or delay by Maydena Alpine Retreat in enforcing any right does not constitute a waiver of such rights.

​

Severance

​

  • If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms will continue in full force.

PRIVACY POLICY
  • This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, store, use, and disclose personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

  • By engaging with us or using our website, you consent to the terms of this policy.
